iPhone Developer team has finally released the updated version of Redsnow. With this update, you don’t have to install Cydia separately. You also don’t have to manually download iOS6 ISPW since it recognizes the firmware and proceeds automatically. This is a tethered jailbreak and only works with devices running on A4 processor which is iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4. This guide is not meant for any other device and may end up undesired outcomes.
What is Tethered Jailbreak?
There are three types of jailbreak out of which tethered jailbreak is least considered. The reason is you have to connect the device to a computer everytime you want to boot it. Remember, it will boot without connecting but without jailbreak applications too.

Guide to Jailbreak
1) Download Redsn0w 0.9.15b1 for Windows and Mac.
2) Make sure you are running iOS6. If not you can update by going into Settings > General > Software Update. In case you are on jailbreak iOS5, manually download iOS6 IPSW for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 GSM and CDMA and iPod Touch 4.
3) Extract the .zip file we downloaded of Redsn0w and open redsn0w.exe
4) Select Jailbreak and click on Next. Your device needs to be in DFU mode which stands for Device Firmware Update. You can read instructions for that as soon as you click Next. In case you have a hard time doing this, please refer to this YouTube video.
5) The process will then start and after few seconds the device will boot and Cydia icon should be visible now.
Woot! You now have a Jailbreak iOS6 With Official Cydia.
How to boot your device?
Remember I told you this is a tethered jailbreak. Therefore you need to connect your device to a computer everytime you boot it. The instructions are simple. Just open Redsn0w.exe again and click on Extras. Select ‘Just Boot’ and enter into DFU mode. In case of emergency, remember the device can also boot up without connecting to your computer though jailbreak apps won’t work but still you can use your device normally. This update of Redsn0w comes with many new features and dev team is working very hard for other devices as well.
